The Bay of Mazzarò in Taormina-Mare is located right north to the 'little pearl', the Isola Bella.
The beach in the Bay of Mazzarò is quite small, but it is certainly of the most beautiful locations in the whole of Sicily. The sand is coarse with pebbles of small and medium size, both on the beach and in the water, so bring water shoes.But the unique location makes up for it.
In the summer season you can make use of the equipment of the lidos in the bay by paying a fee: sun loungers, sunshades, changing cabins, toilets, e.g. at Lido La Pigna, which offers a shuttle service from/to Taormina town to the lido.
The bay is small, so there are no empty sections and it gets quite crowded in peak season.
The Bay of Mazzarò is easily reachable in a few minutes from Taormina Town by cablecar.
