The first stop bill be a crater that formed from a recent eruption in 2001. See the Escrivà Crater with your volcanological guide, who will be with you through the entire tour to explain the geogoraphy. Reach the base of the Barbagallo craters as you continue north. Once at the bottom, visit the effusive mouths and the respective 'hot point' before entering the lava flow channel. Continue to the most recent lava flows from 2021 before taking a break. Continue climbing towards the Barbagallo Craters, formed in the autumn of 2002. Take a tour of the craters before going down inside them. Next, descend towards the Belvedere della Valle del Bove, a place where you can admire the majestic beauty of the great depression, after visiting the craters located at an altitude of 2920 meters. Continue in the direction of the Cisternazza crater before returning to the Etna cable car arrival station. The more fit will be able to continue the descent on foot to Rifugio Sapienza (1,900 m down).
