If you want to have Castelbuono for yourself, come here in winter. The town is nearly deserted. The negative thing is that nearly all restaurants close in the afternoon, and if you want something to eat after 14.30 h it could be a bit difficult. Donjon is open all day, so we gave it a try. They have a good range of snacks, Sicilian street food and local specialties on the menu. And we must say, we ate well. Pasta with meat sauce and ceps, veal with mushrooms and carpaccio of pork - everything was tasty and we payed a fair price.
We were told that the Donjon is a meeting point in the evening, where people can enjoy an aperitif and a cocktail, in winter in the spacious dining room, in summer outside.
Donjon comes recommended for a quick bite (or a slow one) and a good glass on wine.
