Castelbuono
Sicily
Castelbuono is a charming town in the Madonie Mountains, famous for its mighty Medieval castle and the production of Manna.
For a real taste of Sicily try a Sunday morning in Castelbuono. The shops move outside and tastings are obligatory. You'll find a mix of salamis and sausages, preserves and chocolates, amazing biscuits and cakes, ice cream of all flavours and many types of panettone and delectable spreads. This is normal life, not a tourist attraction, so be prepared to jostle with the local children who are on the front row for tastings, then have a break from all the tasting and sit in the square to enjoy an espresso, the church bells and do some people watching.
Throughout the year many events take place in Castelbuono, such as funfairs, music events, festivals - have a look from time to time here
