During this half-day guided tour of Mount Etna, you will reach the volcano with 4×4 jeeps, for a unique and unforgettable experience. The excursion begins with an easy walk of about 3 km (1.9 miles), which will lead you to discover a lateral crater of Mount Etna. Lateral craters are volcanic formations that develop along the slopes of the main volcano. They are connected to the main magma chamber of Mount Etna and were formed by lateral eruptions that expelled magma and ash. Mount Etna’s lateral craters are among the most spectacular formations of the volcano and offer a unique experience of immersion in nature. After visiting the craters, we will move by jeep to reach the lava tube, where you can admire the beauty of the geological formations shaped by lava. The lava flow cave is formed when the lava flow on the surface solidifies, creating an outer crust, while the still hot magma continues to flow inside. When the lava flow stops and cools, an empty cavity remains inside, forming the lava tube.
