Best Golf, Ski & Sport in Sicily

Local Recommendations from our My Guide Sicily team

Golfing and skiing in Sicily? Yes, golfing and skiing in Sicily! Sicily boasts some beautiful golf courses and nice ski pistes, even if it is neither considered to be a golf or ski destination.

The oldest golf course of Sicily 'Il Picciolo' boasts great views of Mount Etna and is located a short half hour drive from Taormina. 'Madonie Golf' has fantastic views of the Aeolian Islands and is not far from Cefalù, and the newest addition to Sicily's golf scene is in Sciacca, where golfers will find two 18-hole courses near the private beach and the wonderful luxurious Verdura Golf Resort. Verdura Golf and the Donnafugata Golf are both a bit 'in the middle of nowhere', so renting a car is highly required. I Monasteri Golf is also new on the scene and not easy to find when it's dark. We like the location in a former abbey very much and the staff is superfriendly, but be careful when booking a suite: the sizes differ enormously. Sicily boasts 3 ski resorts, 2 on Mount Etna and 1 in the Madonie Mountains. Of course these are not comparable ot Europe's main ski resorts, but it is great to ski on an active and there is almost always snow in winter. We recommend highly renting a car - no matter which hotel you choose.
