The Fiumara d'Arte Park is the biggest open space exhibition in Europe and is in the province of Messina.These contemporary art sculptures set against the rolling surroundings of the countryside is a unique sight and used to be an old river bed flowing through the Nebrodi Mountains.
The original idea came from Antonio Presti. But it wasn't a smooth project. For whooping 25 years the Fiumara d'Arte Park project faced several problems with local authorities and was many times subject to suspension.
Today, the sculpture park offers a great art experience with many interesting sculptures such as 'Window to the sea' which is an 18 metre high frame of a fantastic blue colour adorned with small clouds or the 30 metres high Pyramid made out of iron and steel set on the edge of the cliff and changing colours with sunrise and sunset.
