The school Federico II in Catania does not only teach Italian, but offers also a cultural experience. It is housed in an ancient historical building in a fantastic location right in the historical centre on the main square Piazza Duomo. Classes are up to 12 students.
Mornings are usually spent studying, where the afternoons are dedicated to experiencing the real Sicilian life through several social activities including cookery school, or a guided tour around Catania with insight to Catania's rich history, culture and traditions.
For gourmets there is cheese and wine tasting, for those who would like to discover Mount Etna, there will be planned an excursion to Etna, there are pottery lessons, kayaking , video and photo competitions, literature seminars and even Italian Opera singing. If you take part in the Summer School Course some of the lessons will be run right on the beach.
