Museo dell'Etna

Sicily

A visit to the museum comes highly recommended for people with children, but we warn you: it could be more exciting for adults!

This lovely little museum is dedicated to volcanoes in general, available to all to interact, enjoy, learn and discover everything you have ever wanted to know about volcanoes and Earth's geology. You should plan about two hours for your visit.
There are more than 1500 square meters divided into 4 different fields, you can peek into the heart of a volcano, discover the flora and fauna on Mount Etna, there are interesting photos, videos, multimedia rooms and a 3D-cinema.
School classes and groups of 10 persons and more can book guided visits from Monday to Saturday. The entrance ticket includes the access to the 'Butterfly House' in the Parco Monte Serra.
Warning: the outside of the museum and the surrounding area are not well maintained and absolutely unattractive. But once entered you'll be positively surprised.
