Museo del Ricamo - Embroidery Museum

The Museo del Ricamo in Chiaramonte Gulfi is a place that conserves what time inexorably destroys - handmade embroideries.

The interested visitor will find here all about the important heritage of handmade Sicilian embroideries. On display are well-known, prestigious and popular genres, such as embroideries in the style of Caterina de Medici and Empire, to name only some.  Many works have a precise dating, attributable to periods and artifacts from the late eighteenth century and the twentieth century. Furnishings, photos and craft tools, more than two hundred pieces including curtains, tablecloths, towels, lampshades, masterpieces of sacred vestment, as well as frames and vintage gear are shown.
