Museo Civico Torre di Ligny
Sicily
Inside the Tower of Ligny, which was erected in 1671 as a watchtower, visitors find a collection of artifacts and panels illustrating the prehistory of Sicily. Medieval artifacts were recovered from the many shipwrecks found in the depths of the sea.
It is a very interesting museum located in one of the most beautiful locations in the province, at the tip of the city of Trapani, overlooking the Egadi Islands.
The museum is divided into two sections, the prehistoric on the ground floor, and the marine-archaeological on the first floor, which displays more than 100 objects from the seabed of the Mediterranean: amphorae, anchors, and ship furnishings of the Greek, Roman and Punic eras.
