Directions to Catacombe dei Cappuccini
The Catacombe dei Cappuccini are located in Piazza Cappuccini and the best way how to find them is from Piazza Indipendenza.
One piece of advice: if you're faint of hear, then maybe you should give it a miss. Children could be scared!
The Catacombs are spacious and full of skeletons and mummiess, most of them dressed in their best clothes. They are put in an order/category of monks, nobles, soldiers, poor people, virgins and so on.There are also dead babies and children, so it's a bit to take in. Probably the most viewed and admired is well preserved Rosalia Lombardo, a 2- years old girl deeply loved by her father, who used the finest preserving techniques that she looks almost real and alive.
It's a spooky and unusual attraction, but if you like something strange you've never seen before give it a try.
