Linosa
Sicily
An hour on a ferry takes you across from Lampedusa , the main island of the Pelagie Archipelago, to the islandd of Linosa. Lampedusa is reachable by airplane from Sicily and the Italian mainland and by ferry boat from Agrigento.
Linosa is a volcanic island with craters and a couple of black sandy beaches that are well worth visiting. The picturesque scenery makes a wonderful background for long walks and hikes, so bring along a comfy pair of shoes, a water bottle and a hat, and explore this cute island on foot, anyway cars are not allowed on the island. The village of Linosa has brightly coloured houses, welcoming trattorias and chatty locals.
