Capo Bianco
Sicily
Between Agrigento and Sciacca extends Capo Bianco, the 'White Cape', named after the pure white rocks that form a charming cliff that 'falls' into the turquoise sea. It is on top of this promontory that extends the ancient town of Eraclea Minoa.
Don't miss the natural beauty of the Capo Bianco with its white cliffs and its long stretch of sands and azure blue sea on one side and pine woods on the other side, where, if you are lucky, you may spot few foxes running about.
Nearby you can also discover the ancient Phoenician and Roman ruins of Eraclea Minoa as well as a Greek settlement with a theatre and auditorium facing the sea. On top of the promontory you can see the ancient watch-tower of Torre Salsa.
It's best to come early in the morning - and don't forget to take a picnic and your camera!
