Mud baths
Sicily
Ancient Rome was renowned for its thermal baths and these sulfurous options will give you the opportunity to wallow just like the Romans of old on the famed Volcano island in the Aeolians.
You'll find the mud baths right near the harbour where you arrive by ferry. Just follow the rotten eggs smell ( sulphur) you can't miss it :-)
The mud baths, surrounded by the black sandy beach are open roughly from 6.30am to 8pm and cost a few euros for entry. Remember to wear old clothes or bathing costumes and remove jewelery before going in.
If you plan on hiking to the crater on Volcano do it first - you'll feel far too sleepy and relaxed afterwards.
