Noto, Modica and Ragusa: The Baroque Tour from Catania
116 ReviewsDiscover the heart of Sicily of the late Baroque period. Rebuilt after the devastating earthquake of 1693 it is part of UNESCO's World Heritage.
Trattoria Giglio Rosso is one of our discoveries walking Catania, found by accident.
The restaurant is quite small and decorated in 'taverna-style' with strong tones of some details and the tablecloth. The owner and his staff are very friendly. They'll do everything to make you feel comfortable, in fact we felt like being at lunch with relatives, very kind relatives. The chef (the owner) Mimmo personally ensures that every customer is satisfied.
The fish dishes are excellent, but if pasta is more your thing try their pasta with pesto.
There is a lovely inner courtyard, typical dishes of the area, very good house wine and prices are fair given the quality and quantity of the food.
We will be back!
