The Satra is an elegant restaurant in a typical Ragusan town mansion with open spaces in white limestone. The wine list is small, boasting a selection of the best Sicilian wines. And the kitchen is a bit difficult to describe: it is refined Sicilian of the area with north-african elements. Think starters like bisque with red shrimps and peas, or meatballs with capers, or cabbage with raw prawns, first courses like macaroni with tuna and smoked ricotta cheese, St. Peter's fillet on tuma cheese and endive. Traditional Sicilian ingredients, but combined in an absolutely new way. Slightly spicy, really tasty and very interesting. Skillful presentation of the dishes, polite and friendly service, and a pleasant outside seating.
