Mocambo Café Tea Room
Sicily
The Mocambo is often called the pounding heart of Taormina as it boasts a great location on the main square and tables spilling out on the cobbled pavement under oleander trees.
It welcomed its first guest in 1952 in the era of 'dolce vita'. It was often frequented by international film stars and celebrities including Truman Capote and Tennessee Williams.
Just sit down and enjoy your cocktail, prosecco, cappuccino or ice cream and watch the world go by while soaking up the atmosphere of the busy and bustling piazza.
If you are there in winter the inside is very welcoming with red furniture, huge glistening chandeliers and a satirical mural covering the whole wall.
The Mocambo is our favourite bar in Taormina for a coffee, a quick lunch or a prosecco!
