Da Alfredo is the proud local of Salina, which has many well kept hiking paths, especially the one up to Monte Fossa delle Felci and best place where to relax after is at Da Alfredo, located right at the seafront square with a fantastic granita in one hand and pane cunzato in the other.
Da Alfredo has been producing granita for decades now and thanks to the secret recipe they produce the best granita in Sicily and we dare to say even in whole of Italy!
The granita comes with several flavours, and one of our favourites is granita al caffè - pure heaven.
Another good reason to pay a visit to Da Alfredo is pane cunzato, which is a thick grilled rounded sandwich piled up with baked ricotta cheese, aubergine, olives, tomatoes, prosciutto or cured tuna. It is very tasty and filling, but still light and soft - see the sandwich here
