Description
Experience a full-day tour of the Aeolian Islands, which form one of the most active geological structures in the Mediterranean area. The Archipelago of the Aeolian Islands consists of seven exquisite islands off the coast of Sicily - Lipari, Panarea, Vulcano, Stromboli, Salina, Alicudi, and Filicudi - in addition to smaller islets and giant boulders. They all emerge from an uncontaminated sea, created by still-active volcanoes (Stromboli and Vulcano), and blessed by a savage beauty. The Islands, the destination for tens of thousands of tourists annually, are part of the Province of Messina. Departing from Milazzo, sail to Vulcano and stop for 4 hours on the white and black beaches and climb the crater of Vulcano. Then depart from Vulcano to Panarea, the smallest of the islands. Soak up the beautiful atmosphere of the island as you stroll around the narrow streets of its historic center. Afterward, pay a visit to the prehistoric village of Capo Milazzese, where you can learn more about Panarea's ancient origins. Visiting Cala Junco Bay is a must - a spectacular beach shaped like an amphitheater ideal for underwater swimming. Finally, relax on the sandy beach of Cala degli Zimmari before continuing your journey. Sail through the picturesque inlets which form a micro-archipelago between Lipari and the island of Stromboli, your next stop. Visit Saint Vincent’s Square and the house in which Rossellini and Ingrid Bergman lived during the shooting of the film 'Stromboli terra di Dio' (Stromboli land of God). As the sun sets over the island, enjoy panoramic views of the port and volcanoes from the main square. Watch as the fire of the eruptions and the dark sky clash with each other providing ever-changing colorful creations in the Sciara del Fuoco.Includes
