Circumetnea

Imagine 110 km long narrow gauge railway with a small train the Ferrovia Circumetnea (FCE) on a single track climbing up to 950m and weaving its way around Etna and going past numerous valleys, ridges, vineyyards, lava fields and through ancient villagies with lush vegetation while offering hundreds views of Etna.

To get the most out of the journey with this picturesque train board on in Catania or Giarre and enjoy the whole trip up to the top. Or if you don't have that much time take the 2 hour journey to beautiful unspoil medieval town of Randazzo.

The train doesn't get too busy,although it serves some remote villages lying on the foot of the volcano or group of students may turn up occassionally.

It is a great experience especially if the weather is nice and also fun thing to do with kids. Definitively good value for money!
