Of the old Adranon remain the ancient city walls and the citadel. The citadel is the only of Greek origin of Mount Etna to be still intact. There are many palazzos, churches, and other interesting buildings to be visited, not to forget the position of Adrano at the slopes of Mount Etna, boasting wonderful views.
Adrano's economy is primarily based on craft, agricultural and pastry.
Among the main agricultural products are renowned red oranges, grapes, prickly pears and pistachios.
Each of these products is widely used in the preparation of various culinary delights. The pastries of Adrano are amongst the best in eastern Sicily: Cassata, cannoli with ricotta or cream, almond and pistachio pastries and Sicilian nougat, granita and marzipan fruits.
