Il Culinario Hostaria

In search of an open restaurant, two that were recommended by friends were closed, we scented tempting flavours and luckily stumbled upon the Il Culinario. Luckily, because it was all yummy, from the antipasto misto to calamari salad to spaghetti with shrimps to pasta with Sicilian pesto  to the dessert - a Cassata Siciliana, which is worth a mention because it was different to the classical cassata. No thick layer of sugar which makes this cake often far too sweet, this cassata is soft and you can taste the delicious ricotta cheese inside.

At first sight Il Culinario seems a normal restaurant, but it is the owner who makes the difference, he is so friendly and corteous  He would also make a great guide, being so in love with his Palermo.
