Kursaal Kalhesa is nestled in a beautiful 18th century palazzo in front of the sea. It is cut into a rock and boasts a fantastic atmosphere which attracts sophisticated Palermitans. Kursaal Kalhesa features a library-bookshop with a great choice of books and European newspapers. There is live jazz music usually on Thursday nights, cubby holes and an internet cafe.
An elegant restaurant is on the upper floor and alfresco dining is possible in the outdoor garden. The bar with hundreds of bottles ready to knock up delicious cocktails is the focal point in the evenings.
The menu is well thought and seasonal food is locally sourced wherever possible. Try Gnocchi with fresh tomato and eggplant for spot of lunch, or dinner for two with stuffed chicken breast in Marsala sauce and pistachio mousse as a dessert.
