Description

Departure: Zafferana Etnea Tasting of Honey, Wine and Typical Products We begin our journey in Zafferana Etnea, where the authentic flavors of the area welcome us. A tasting of honey, wine and typical products will make you savor the essence of these volcanic lands. Let yourself be transported by the unique scents and flavors of this region, which tell the story and culture of a people linked to the power of nature. Stop: Lava Flow 1991-1993 Walk among the Lava Flows After having delighted the senses, we will move by car to the site of the famous eruption of 1991-1993, which threatened the town of Zafferana. Here, we will take a short walk through the lava flow, an almost lunar landscape that testifies to the power of the volcano. A unique opportunity to admire one of the most fascinating natural phenomena up close. Visit: Grotta dei Ladroni (or Grotta della Neve) Underground Exploration Our adventure continues towards the legendary Grotta dei Ladroni, also known as Grotta della Neve. This place, shrouded in mystery and history, offers us the opportunity to explore the hidden heart of Etna. Armed with torches, we will enter inside, discovering the wonders of this fascinating underground world. Final Destination: Monti Sartorius The Enchanted Landscape of Birches The last stop on our journey takes us to Monti Sartorius, a magical place at the foot of Etna, known for the presence of ancient birch trees over 10,000 years old. These unique trees, which stand out against the black lava, create a landscape of rare beauty, perfect for a relaxing and regenerating walk in uncontaminated nature. 1.Island of Lachea Aci Trezza The island Lachea, not large, is the largest of the outcrops that make up the archipelago of the Cyclops, just off Aci Trezza, in Sicily. It is part of the Integral Natural Reserve Isola Lachea and Faraglioni dei Ciclopi, the protected area established by the Sicilian Region in 1998. The island, like the others of the archipelago, is of subvolcanic origin, formed by the intrusion of magma in the pre-existing rocks of the seabed. 2. The Faraglioni It is thought that their origin is associated with the wrath of the cyclops Polyphemus who, blinded by Ulysses, would have thrown the rocks into the sea against the Greek hero to prevent him from fleeing. 3. Norman Castle Aci Castello The castle of Aci is located in Aci Castello in the province of Catania. The fortification of uncertain origin, was the fulcrum of the development of the territory of the Aci in the Middle Ages. During the Sicilian Vespers, it was subjected to the lordship of Roger of Lauria, then in the Aragonese era it was of John of Sicily and finally of the Alagona being besieged several times. It is currently home to a civic museum. 4. Ulysses' Caves in Ognina 5. Dinner in family home
