Il Passo dell'Asino - The Pace of the Donkey
Sicily
The farm's owner is Anna Ignaccolo, afte receiving a MS degree in Forestry, she spent a few years in the National Park of Abruzzo, worked as a hippotherapy assistant, and took part in a course on donkey-assisted mediation activities. Since 2007, she has been a hiking guide in Sicily. Finally, in February 2009, I she tarted her farm with Ragusano donkeys, which were later joined by numerous other animals. All together they're 'Il passo dell'asino' (the donkey's pace), a farm in the heart of the Hyblaean mountains.
You can spend half a day or a full day at the farm, taking care of the animals, tidying up the stables, looking after the garden, and having lunch all together with locally grown vegetables and dairy products made by local farmers.
After work, you can enjoy a visit to the museum of farming traditions, which takes you back to the past Sicilian country life.
