Welcome to the Mosto Cava e Cucina restaurant, where a passion for wine and cuisine meets the timeless charm of Cava d'Ispica. Located within the famous Sicilian canyon, our cellar is not just a storage space but an ancient natural cave carved into the limestone rock, which provides the perfect microclimate for aging the island's great wines.
In this experience, led by the owner, who is a WSET Level 2 certified sommelier, you won't just be drinking wine; you'll be embarking on a true “tour of the island.” We will explore Sicily's stunning biodiversity through a carefully chosen selection of 4 labels from iconic terroirs: from the mineral-fresh wines of Mount Etna to the marine flavors of the west coast, to the robust reds of the Val di Noto, sharing the stories of the small, independent producers we carefully select.
At the heart of the experience is a technical introduction to wine pairing. You will learn how a wine's acidity, tannins, and structure interact with food. You will taste our wines paired with excellent products prepared by our kitchen: the famous artisanal caponata, Ragusano PDO cheese at various stages of maturation, local olives, and bread made from ancient grain varieties.
