Description
Departure at 09:30 AM from the Lipari Marina Corta harbor (please arrive 45 minutes prior) for a full day exploring Filicudi and Alicudi, two of the most captivating islands in the Aeolian archipelago. The tour begins by sailing along the Faraglioni of Lipari to the Sea Oxen Grotto, the largest grotto in the Aeolian Islands, which was once inhabited by monk seals. During the journey, you can admire the striking Montenassari, Giafante, and La Canna sea stacks, including an 85-meter (280-foot) high volcanic neck surrounded by crystal-clear waters teeming with colorful fish. In Filicudi, there will be a stop of about two hours for you to explore the island on your own. You can visit the Bronze Age village of Capo Graziano, which bears witness to an ancient Neolithic industry, and the Macine Quarries. The port area is the nerve center of the island, home to small local businesses. It is also home to the Aeolian Archaeological Museum, which houses finds from excavations and shipwrecks in the surrounding area. In the early afternoon, we set off again for Alicudi, the westernmost island of the archipelago, which has remained untouched by mass tourism. The stop, lasting approximately two hours, allows you to enjoy the untouched nature and tranquility. We recommend visiting San Bartolo, the patronal church of the Aeolian Islands, and Contrada Tonna, a small cluster of rural houses featuring typical Aeolian architecture. Return to the port of Lipari Marina Corta is scheduled for around 6:00 PM.Includes
