Description
Begin with a visit to a nearby farm to taste local honey, olive oil, and other products reflecting Etna’s fertile volcanic soil. Then, explore a lava cave formed by historic eruptions, equipped with helmet and headlamp, while learning about the volcano’s geology.
Afterwards, travel to Rifugio Sapienza at 1,910 meters on Etna’s southern slope. Follow scenic trails through recent lava flows and extinct craters as your guide explains the area’s geological and historical significance within the UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Conclude at a panoramic viewpoint to watch the sunset over Valle del Bove and the surrounding volcanic landscape. Groups are limited to 8 participants to ensure an intimate experience.
