Hi, I’m Federica, your skipper. “Choose a job you love, and you will never have to work a day in your life.” – Confucius Confucius. With my boat, I wanted to make my dream come true, and through it, I will share with you my love for the beauty of the Aeolian Sea and its islands. These volcanic islands are imbued with powerful energy, featuring striking color contrasts like the black of the rocks and the blue and turquoise of the sea, which is home to starfish (please look, but don’t touch!), dolphins, turtles, and more. The tour lasts 5 hours and includes the transfer from the island of Lipari to the island of Vulcano, with stops for swimming and snorkeling along the way, and a 3-hour stop to climb the crater on the island of Vulcano at your leisure; given the ease of the route, a guide is not required. Although the climb is self-guided, I will be happy to provide general explanations and all necessary information during the trip. Departure from Lipari, from the small marina of Marina Corta. First swimming stop at Forbice Beach, surrounded by lush greenery that is reflected in the emerald-green water. From the south-east side, we continue south, skirting the Scoglio della Secca rock formation, until we reach Punta Caprazza. We are now on the south side of Lipari, in the channel opposite the Gran Cratere Della Fossa on Vulcano, where we will make our second stop for swimming at Praia Vinci, which offers truly breathtaking scenery. Then we will see the Faraglioni of Lipari, the Mummia Rock, and the Arch of the Angels. Finally, we will head to Vulcano for the climb. The route is easy, with a 400-meter (1,312-foot) elevation gain. The crater’s landscape is surreal – I would say “lunar” – and is certainly worth a visit. Shoes, especially hiking shoes, are strongly recommended. Afterwards, we will return to Lipari. • I recommend bringing swimwear for the boat stops. For the climb, I recommend bringing water, shoes (preferably hiking shoes), and a hat.
