Description
Depart from Piazza Stesicoro in Catania at 3:30 PM and travel by minibus towards the slopes of Mount Etna. The first stop is the outskirts of the village of Zafferana Etnea, where you will stand at the site of a lava flow from the dramatic 1992–93 eruption that came dangerously close to the village.
Continue to a natural terrace at the base of Mount Zoccolaro. From this remarkable viewpoint, admire the vast expanse of Valle del Bove — Etna’s grandest caldera — as the afternoon light begins to soften across the volcanic landscape.
By 7:00 PM, arrive at the Etna Sud tourist area and take an easy, scenic walk among ancient and recent craters. After exploring, pause at the tourist station for refreshments, then enjoy a glass of Etna DOC white wine while watching a memorable sunset paint the sky with colour.
Begin the return journey to Catania at around 8:00 PM.
This tour follows an easy, relaxed pace. A certified guide accompanies the group throughout the experience.
