Description
Depart from the ancient village of Aci Castello aboard a comfortable 13-meter boat designed for safe navigation along nearly 20 km of volcanic coastline. The route passes between the La Timpa Nature Reserve and the Cyclops Islands Marine Protected Area, offering panoramic views of basalt cliffs, rocky promontories, and secluded coves. Refreshing drinks and light snacks are served during the voyage.
The excursion is led by a marine biologist and an underwater environmental guide who provide detailed explanations on the geology and biodiversity of the area. You will learn about lava formations such as basalt columns, rope lavas, and pillow lavas, and how volcanic activity shaped this coastline.
