Description

Meet and depart from the Molo S. Antonio in Syracuse. We set off by coach for a walking tour through myth, history and traditions, exploring the charming historic centres of Ragusa Ibla and Modica. The best way to visit Modica is to walk through the streets of the historic centre, climb the narrow lanes and lose yourself in the maze of stairways, amongst ancient houses, churches, shops and elegant palaces. The Cathedral of San Giorgio is a sumptuous golden-coloured building, preceded by a staircase of 250 steps. It is an architectural masterpiece listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. A short walk takes you to the Giardino Ibleo, a perfect blend of nature and human craftsmanship, leading on to the majestic Cathedral, the city’s symbol, with a façade of rare beauty in the Baroque style. Coach transfer to Ragusa Ibla. Ragusa Ibla surprises visitors with its marvellous Gothic-Catalan portal, the sole surviving element of the ancient church of San Giorgio, which offers a glimpse of the town square, creating a unique visual effect.
