We came here accidentally and were very pleased with the nice ambience, the superfriendly service and the real Sicilian food. Later we were told that the Vecchio Palmento is renowned for its regional cuisine, based on meats, cheeses and mushrooms. The pizzas are very tasty but only served in the evening like in every good Italian restaurant.
We had the fettucine with freshly picked ceps - yummy, yummy, and portions are generous. We also recommend the mixed grill of meat and in particular the homemade sausage.
The Vecchio Palmento can be noisy, depends on the time you come here, as it is only few metres from the road, but don't let that back you off - the food is special, the staff very kind and prices are low. Definitely worth a try!
