Opra dei Pupi Fratelli Mauceri

The Giudecca, the ancient Jewish quarter of Ortigia, a short walk from Piazza del Duomo, is home to the Opra dei Pupi Fratelli Maugeri.

The theatre is a nice and comfortable place which welcomes its visitors summer and winter, and takes them on a history trip  using friendly puppet characters created with love and passion.

The theatre evokes old times with stone columns, benches equipped with cosy cushions and a traditional stage with a red pull up curtain.

The theatre usually open its door around March / April up to December with traditional performances, live acting, alternations of myths or Greek tragedies.

On offer are also guided tours, workshops, concerts, exhibitions and cabaret, and the possibility to hire the whole theatre for conferences and meetings.

Pre-bookings are highly recommended - the puppet shows are well known throughout Sicily..
