Description

The Archimede technopark is a permanent exhibition, within which it is possible to admire replicas and scale reproductions of machinery used in the 3rd century. BC, with important Archimedean contributions. The exhibition is divided into six thematic areas: 1) EDUCATIONAL SECTION LEVERS: this section includes levers, pulleys and winches. 2) TEACHING SECTION 'ARCHIMEDEE WAR MACHINES': this section includes the catapult, ram, crossbow, scorpion and onager, ballista. 3) DIACTICAL SECTION 'LIFT MACHINES': this section includes two types of cranes and manus ferrea. 4) TEACHING SECTION OF 'HYDROSTATICS': This section includes Archimedes' screw and experiments on the Archimedes' principle, Corobats. Presses and worm screws. 5) EDUCATIONAL SECTION 'BURNING MIRRORS': This section is dedicated to Archimedes' most famous invention, the burning mirror, of which it will be possible to admire two different models. 6) EDUCATIONAL SECTION 'WATER CLOCKS': In this last section it will be possible to admire the water clocks and various applications of the 'Archimedes screw'.
