Description

Set sail from the small port of Siracusa, Porto Santa Lucia, named after the city’s patron saint. Cruise past the Monumento ai Caduti and the striking Roccia del Delfino, where the azure waters reveal the unique colors of the Siracusa seabed. Continue to the Grotta dei Cappuccini, Grotta del Corallo, Grotta degli Innamorati, and Grotta dello Spirito. Head to the Golfetto dei Due Frati, where you’ll learn the legend of the two rocks and see formations resembling a camel and an elephant. Next, sail to the Plemmirio area, particularly the Spiaggia della Pillirina, a natural zone. Admire the minaret, an abandoned tuna factory, and a mussel, clam, and oyster farm, home to the largest oysters on Sicily’s east coast. On the return journey, admire the Chiesa del Santo Spirito, the Academy of Architecture, and the Castello Maniace. Enter one of the world’s largest natural harbors, the Porto Grande di Siracusa, and see the Fonte Aretusa and the Marina. Finally, see the magnificent bridges of Siracusa: Ponte Umbertino, Ponte Santa Lucia, and Ponte Nuovo, which connect the old city (ortigia ) of Siracusa to the new.
