Description

Meeting: at 10:00 inside bar Esagonal, before climb of Etna, delivery of equipment, bureaucratic formalities, latest information from the volcanological bulletin of the N.I.G.V. of Catania and delivery of tickets. Our trekking begins, and it will lead us on a discovery of the tallest volcano in Europe. Variations can be made to the day’s agenda caused by the forecasts of volcanological bulletins and civil protection. Any changes will be communicated in the morning by our guides. Departure: 10:30 (departure time may be subject to change due to ordinances and other events). From the meeting point we will start our climb to Etna, taking the the cable car to 2500 m, from where we’ll start our wonderful trekking adventure up to the craters of Etna. Led by our volcanological guides, on a climb through geology, volcanology, flora and fauna, we will admire the active craters of the Bocca nuova, Voragine, the North East and the South East Crater in safty distance. and then continue in the direction of the Belvedere, a vantage point that will allow you to admire the great caldera of the Valle del Bove. It is categorically not recommended for heart patients and people with respiratory problems (like asthma).
