Suitable for everyone, even children aged 7 and up, this approximately 2-hour experience takes you on a discovery of the most evocative places on the southern slope of Etna, without stress, without noise, without combustion engines. ‍♂️ First stop – Lateral crater of 1892 Second stop – Lava cave from the 2001 flow Back in the saddle, we will reach a spectacular lava flow cave: a natural tunnel formed by the 2001 lava flow, the last major lateral eruption of southern Etna. With headlamps and helmets, we will descend for a few minutes into the heart of the earth, enjoying a fascinating and safe experience, suitable even for children. Third stage – Sunset at 2200 meters We resume our climb, crossing recent lava flows, until we reach a natural viewpoint at an altitude of 2200 m. From here, the view is simply breathtaking: the Ionian coast opens up before us and behind Etna lie the hinterland and the Madonie mountains. This is the highlight: the sunset sets the sky ablaze, the stone turns red, and the air becomes silent. It is one of those moments that you will never forget.
