Description

A complete excursion to visit Etna at Sunset. With this excursion departing from Catania and surroundings you will visit the volcano at sunset and enjoy its magnificent landscapes in the most suggestive moment of the day. From the meeting place, defined at the time of booking the tour, you will leave with our vehicles for a unique experience. During the journey you will be able to admire lava flows from different age, you will visit recent and ancient craters and you will touch the so-called “volcanic bombs” that scatter accross the soil of the volcano. Equipped with helmets and torch supplied by us, you will experience the thrill of exploring an authentic lava cave in complete safety. Our Naturalist Guides will accompany you during the tour and will illustrate in a clear and simple way the volcanological phenomena that gave rise to these very particular places. You will discover natural scenery of extraordinary beauty, including the lunar landscapes around the Silvestri Craters and the semi-desert area of the volcanic caldera “Valle del Bove” (Valley of the Ox). When the sun goes down, the light of the sunset on Mount Etna will offer enchanting scenarios: you will find yourself immersed in a unique natural setting. You will be able to enjoy the splendid moments of sunset on Mount Etna and take memorable photos. The tour includes a stop in the town of Zafferana Etnea (CT), a village on the slopes of Mount Etna known for the production of delicious honey. You will visit a certified farm that will host you by offering a tasting of typical products: Etna honeys and fine wines produced with grapes grown in the local vineyards.
