Take off from Fiumefreddo di Sicilia (HeliSicily Helipad) and soar above the mighty Mount Etna on an unforgettable helicopter adventure. Begin your experience with a welcome drink / coffee before lifting off toward the volcano’s northern slopes, flying over the charming towns of Piedimonte Etneo and Linguaglossa. As you ascend, marvel at the vast conifer forests and the ancient lava flows that reach down toward the Etna villages. Approaching the summit, glide above the Piano Provenzana ski area and admire the dramatic “Bottoniera” — a striking line of craters created by past eruptions. Watch as the lush vegetation gives way to dark volcanic terrain, leading you to the awe-inspiring summit craters. At around 3,500 meters, take in breathtaking panoramic views that stretch across Sicily, the Aeolian Islands, and even Calabria. Your descent follows the volcano’s rugged southern side, where you’ll reach the Sapienza ski resort and enjoy sweeping views of Catania and its gulf. Continuing east, fly over the extinct Silvestri Craters and the distinctive “Schiena dell’Asino” ridge, which opens onto the vast Valle del Bove. Before returning to base, trace the path of the 1992 lava flows that nearly reached the village of Zafferana Etnea. If it’s canceled due to poor weather, you’ll be offered a different date, an alternative tour of Sicily east coast (Taormina, Isola Bella, Castelmola, Cyclops Riviera) or full refund. All passengers must accept the same option offered to make the alternative flight. The maximum weight per passenger is 105 kg/232 lbs.
