The excursion in the woods of Buccheri (SR) is an immersive experience combining nature, history, and tradition. The trail winds through dense wooded areas of oaks, pine forests, chestnut and hazel trees, where you can admire the rich flora typical of the Hyblaean Mountains, observe the local fauna, and listen to numerous songbirds. During the walk, we'll explore the charming village of Buccheri, one of the highest in the province of Syracuse, with its narrow streets, ancient churches, and breathtaking views. The excursion will also offer a dive into history: we'll visit the ancient ice houses, deep cavities carved into the rock that in the past were used to preserve snow and turn it into ice, a precious resource for the local economy. Amidst tales, curiosities, and breathtaking natural vistas, it'll be a journey to discover the most authentic and unspoiled soul of Hyblaean Sicily, perfect for those who love nature, culture, and tranquility.
