Mountain Refuge Francesco Crispi

Sicily

Hostels Countryside & Mountains Budget-Friendly

Rifugio Crispi is a refuge high up in the Madonie Mountains, with beautiful hiking trails in a short distance, and some spartan rooms, heated by fireplaces in winter. But the courtesy and the services are anything else than spartan, and the food served is so good that people come here for a great Sunday lunch.

It is a quite romantic and quaint place but if you are looking for luxury and comfort you should search for an accommodation in nearby Castelbuono or Cefalù.

The wake-up call  is given by the grazing cows, which often receive visits of horses and wild pigs. The shelter is located at 1300 m, the temperatures are mild, and it is an excellent base for long walks in the woods, and discover the wonders of nature, some unique, like the giant hollies.

Rifugio Crispi is a little paradise for hikers and other nature lovers with good services and low prices.
