Best Disabled-Friendly in Sicily

Local Recommendations from our My Guide Sicily team

We couldn't not find a really suitable for disabled accommodation, but numerous hotels, B&Bs and apartments with facilities for disabled travellers.

Best places for people who are confined to a wheelchair are Giardini-Naxos and Letojanni, and the western region of Sicily - Trapani and Marsala are wheelchair-friendly towns. And in San Vito Lo Capo you can spend hassle-free days at the most beautiful beach in the whole of Sicily. Please note that Medieval and Baroque places like Palermo, Catania, Syracuse and Cefalù are also fine to visit on two wheels because the terrain is flat, but kerbstones may be higher than usual and crossing the often cobbled roads is not always a pleasure. Taormina is full of stairways, so you should look for a hotel that is directly situated on the 'Corso Umberto', in Via Pirandello, Via Bagnoli Croce, Via Circonvallazione and Via Teatro Greco, at least if you want to go to town without always having to call a taxi.. In doubt, contact us and tell us what you are looking for. We will be happy to help you finding the right place for enjoyable holidays in Sicily.
