Best Things to do with children in Palermo

Local Recommendations from our My Guide Sicily team

Sicily has so many things to do with children. Fantastic aquaparks with loads of slides, water games, paddling pools and activities. BioParco is a zoo park with lovely animals and huge fields, perfect for running and playing and to enjoy a picnic.

If you are looking for a bit of adrenaline, take them to the Madonie Adventure Park to try out rope ladder walking, they will love it! And you too :-). The Alcantara Gorge is a timeless place, where kids can paddle in icy cold water and play hide and seek between walls and cliffs that were created by the lava flow, and in the evening take them for a puppet show. There are interactive museums,  a butterfly park...and the slow train Circumetnea, which takes you around Mount Etna, and the Treno del Barocco, connecting Siracusa to Ragusa in summer. Kids can discover ancient cave tombs in Pantàlica, an old cave church in Modica and climb over Greek ruins in archaeological sites.  An exciting day out for the whole family is an off road tour to Mount Etna, where lava tunnels and caves are waiting to be discovered, lunar landscapes and rare plants.
