Description

Everyone from Madonia remembers the day when grandma used to make bread. The maidda (a wooden container used for the dough) in the middle of the table, the flour and water, grandma's delicate but energetic arms mixing the ingredients; all the kids standing on chairs to watch, confident that she'd let them try their hand at that ancient and magical art. Then the wood-fired oven was lit, and it became an opportunity to make cookies and toast almonds, to create indelible memories of floured hands and forbidden tastes. Madonie Travel Service recreates this atmosphere for visitors, involving some Madonie families who will teach them how to knead bread.
