Description
This tour is not only for fans of the 'Godfather' series, but is also ideal for discovering typical Sicilian villages that are less frequented by the typical tourist routes.
Characteristic medieval villages: Savoca is located on a hill close to the sea and includes the famous Bar Vitelli and the church of Santa Lucia, the site of the marriage between Michael Corleone and Apollonia.
First stop at 'Bar Vitelli', where you can sit for a refreshing lemon granita, and where Michael Corleone asked Apollonia's father if he could marry his daughter.
A short walk through the narrow streets of the village will take us to the church of Santa Lucia, where the wedding was held.
Another unmissable stop is Forza D'Agrò, a village located 420 m above sea level that serves as the backdrop for many scenes shot in the trilogy.
A beautiful small medieval village, Forza d'Agrò offers breathtaking views of the coast and its coves.
Passing through the Durazzesco arch, you arrive at the church called Triade. Both the arch and the church create a very impressive backdrop. Only a few ruins remain of the castle built in the Norman era.
