Description
This cooking experience is set on a regenerative farm in the countryside near Noto, within a protected natural area filled with olive trees, carobs, and Mediterranean landscapes. It is not a standard cooking lesson, but an immersive journey into Sicilian rural life, seasonality, and land-based cuisine.
After meeting at the designated point, you will travel by car to Three Farms Island through the surrounding countryside. The experience begins with discovering ingredients rather than recipes. You will walk the farm with your hosts to learn how local food reflects the land, the seasons, and traditional farming practices.
The cooking class follows an ingredients-first approach: recipes depend on what the farm and nearby producers offer at that time. Using fresh, seasonal products from the farm and neighboring small farms, you will prepare traditional Sicilian dishes step by step. These simple recipes are rooted in home cooking and rarely found elsewhere in Italy.
This is a fully hands-on experience where you actively cook, learn practical techniques, and understand the role of simplicity, balance, and seasonality in Sicilian cuisine. After cooking, the group shares a meal in an informal setting where conversation flows naturally.
During the meal, you will taste the farm’s cold-pressed extra virgin olive oil and wines produced on site, such as Nero d’Avola and Inzolia, followed by homemade limoncello. The hosts live and work on the farm, blending agriculture with hospitality to create a personal and authentic atmosphere connected to daily rural life.
This experience suits slow travelers, food enthusiasts, and home cooks who want to explore Sicilian cuisine through its land, ingredients, and people rather than through restaurants alone.
