Step aboard a traditional Sicilian feluca and discover the living maritime culture of the Strait of Messina. Led by a historic fishing family from Ganzirri, this shared boat excursion offers a genuine look at local sea traditions—far from mass tourism and close to the rhythms of the water.
After meeting at the meeting point, set off along Messina’s coastline. As the boat navigates the strait, your boatmaster shares stories about the area’s fishing heritage and the daily life of local fishermen. Then, take part in an authentic fishing session using the onboard equipment (when applicable), learning simple techniques and traditions passed down through generations (all catches retained).
Throughout the trip, enjoy scenic views of the coast and the distinctive atmosphere of a working feluca. Bring your camera for memorable photo opportunities and keep an eye on conditions—this experience runs only with good weather.
