Description
Join Teresa in the kitchen of her city apartment for a traditional Sicilian cooking lesson. The experience lasts a total of three hours. You will learn to prepare a typical Sicilian meal, the kind that is prepared with love and for the family, or three types of local fresh pasta if you prefer. Lessons are also in English, at 10:00 AM or 4:00 PM every day, including holidays. Private lessons are available upon specific request, subject to availability and at no additional cost.
The experience is fun, relaxing, informative about local products, and rewarding because you will easily learn new skills under Teresa's careful guidance. The lesson is ideal for those who want to discover the secrets of healthy and authentic Sicilian cuisine, learning the concise and effective Sicilian way of cooking. You will have recipes to take home to cook with your family.
If you wish, before the morning cooking lesson, at 8:45 a.m. you can start your experience with Teresa on a guided tour (extra) of the Ortigia market (meeting point at the market). It is a one-hour walk among the stalls, to do some of the shopping for the class, discover local aromas, flavors, and interesting facts, get advice on buying the best products, enjoy food tastings, and learn interesting facts about local food. If you also book the market tour, breakfast is included, and Teresa will give you a selection of family recipes (in English) that you can use to easily prepare delicious meals at home. The tour has an additional cost of €50 per person, payable on site.
Food intolerances and preferences will be taken into account in advance to ensure a bespoke experience.
Important Information
- Teresa has two active locations for cooking classes. You can take the same type of class in a villa with a garden in the Arenella seaside area until the end of October 2026.

The summer location is only available upon request, and you must indicate this when you book or before booking. You will need a car to reach the villa, which is a 20-minute drive from Syracuse. Teresa can arrange a taxi for a fee.
